Diana Bzik is the President and co-founder of Specialty K9 Search and Recovery, Inc. She started K9 Search and Rescue with her first German Shepherd in 2006 in Live Find and Human Remains Detection (HRD). Since then, she has certified two more German Shepherds in Live Find and HRD, and one in Water Recovery. She has certified her K9s through IPWDA, NASAR, SARCNJ, and NYSFEDSAR. Her current operational K9 partner, “Sage”, is certified in Live Find and HRD.

Diana is currently a Live Find and HRD evaluator with the Search and Rescue Council of New Jersey (SARCNJ) and NASAR’s New Jersey State SAR Program. Diana previously served as Vice Chair and Board Member of the Search and Rescue Council of New Jersey and served for 8 years as its K9 Committee Chair.

Since 2005, Diana has also worked as a positive reinforcement pet dog trainer, teaching private lessons and group classes to pet dog owners using reward marker training techniques.

Drawing from years of operational deployments, Diana is passionate about mentoring others in K9 search strategies and educating agencies in K9 SAR operations and deployment practices.
